Elle and I got to do our events in Cape Cod today! It was great to be near the ocean. The first event was a little slow.  I think everyone was recovering from their 4^th celebrations by lounging on the beach. We had a group of guys take full advantage of our tables though, practically turning them into a full-on picnic set-up. They brought food and drinks for a nice Sunday afternoon lunch and figured some free gelato and sorbet would be a great addition to their outside meal. We also met a guy who invited us to join his friends on the beach that afternoon for a volleyball game. While we are extremely athletically gifted and competitive (yea right) we informed him we would be at another store during the game but convinced him to bring everyone by afterwards for a victory treat!

The second event was a great one for the fact that it was our first busy event since July 3. We gave out 300 samples just at this one event with Chocolate Alba Hazelnut being the favorite. Out tables were always full and I must say I think I got quite a workout from constantly reaching into the coolers (it takes more out of you than you’d imagine). We also met some people who were vacationing with family and were from New York (they were wearing their Yankees hats, pretty ballsy) and had been to our gelato shop in Little Italy!

We are currently on the drive back to Boston and the beach traffic is crazy! But hey at least more people get to experience the great vision that is Penelope (our wonderfully bright pink mobile for those of you just joining us).
