Whether you watch for the commercials or you’re a true fan of football, the Super Bowl is not just a game, it’s an event. Planning seems to start well in advance. Who should be on the guest list? What food should I get and how much? I’ve been to a few Super Bowl parties over the years and the host usually asks the guests to bring something to contribute to the party. I am a big fan of 6 foot subs and cheese platters. And of course you need to have the chicken wings. They are a given, like fireworks on the 4th of July. But instead of bringing the 10th bag of chips or the 15th bottle of soda, why not do something different and put Ciao Bella gelato or sorbet on the roster?
Lemon Zest Sorbet is great palate cleanser as you switch from tortilla chips with queso dip to an Italian sub. It not only tastes great, it soothes your mouth after you have finished your last hot a spicy chicken wing. As a 4th quarter dessert, why not try one of my favorites, Malted Milk Ball Gelato. You can never go wrong with rich cream and malted milk ball morsels. And of course, I need my Pistachio Gelato. So bring some Ciao Bella on February 3rd and truly become the MVP of the party!
