At the end of a hot summer day it’s hard for one to deny the irresistible appeal of freshly scooped gelato.
That’s how the over 1,000 guests must have felt at last night’s Taste of Summer, a distinctive summer kick-off hosted under the stars in Central Park.
Walking through the main tent one could leisurely sample a chilled asparagus soup paired with Maine lobster or take fancy to finger sandwiches topped with scallops and caviar. The fair in the dessert tent was no second thought on the minds of the guests, featuring everything from gourmet toffee to gluten free cakes.
Ciao Bella brought smiles to a number of happy faces with our Blackberry Cabernet and Mango Sorbet (a summertime favorite) along with our rich Hazelnut Biscotti and Pistachio Gelato. My personal favorite moment of the night was one woman walking up to the table, beaming ear to ear, exclaiming “I just had to come over here, everyone is talking about you guys!”
After a few hours and hundreds of scoops later, the guests began to filter off to the DJ and onto the dance floor. An enjoyable event for all involved, the Taste of Summer provides an al fresco evening that can entertain any appetite…as long as they still have room for dessert.
