Elle and I are back in the Boston area and it feels good. As mentioned in an earlier blog, we have been staying at the same hotel in Boston for over a month now and are starting to consider it our home. At the event this morning, we had several people tell us they had seen us at other stores in the area. It was rainy and cold, so that combined with the fact that the parking lot was hectic and tiny, had us doing our event inside. We hadn’t done an inside event since the rainy morning in downtown Charlotte. It was a nice change of pace. The demo coordinator gave a great spot at the end of an aisle. We had a table where we set up all of our boxes and stickers and fun stuff. We also had two top quality gray steel bowls filled with ice (one for our samples and one for pints). This was the first time that we actually had the pints in front of us to sell (instead of sampling and telling people to find it in the ice cream section). It was really fun too because we got to see what flavors people picked out to buy and why. The raspberry and blackberry cabernet sorbet was bought the most, interestingly enough.
Our second event today took place in a great open spot outside, right next to the front door. The rain stopped just in time for this one. We seemed to have a good many people that were already fans of Ciao Bella, but usually only of one favorite flavor. So it was great to give them a chance to branch out and try something new.
When we pulled into the hotel parking lot this evening , so did a similar truck (though not nearly as bright as Penelope). They parked right next to us in the back of the lot. Two girls got out of the truck and asked if we were on a tour as well. How exciting! Not only are they also on a tour, but two young girls as well! Susan and Christine are on a nation-wide tour doing free screenings for skin cancer. Two girls saving lives and two spreading smiles.. all from the road and at the same hotel. We plan to meet up in the lounge one evening to chat and share stories. We also noticed there is a Wendy’s truck in the parking lot.. perhaps we can have a promotional tour party one evening!
Well, Elle is currently at the gym (good for her) while I relax in the room and prepare to call down for some dinner. Hope you all have a great Friday night and check Facebook and Twitter tomorrow morning for our Saturday locations!
