Soaking it all in with a Smile

I just received an alert that the eastcoastBellagirls posted the most recent day’s photos on facebook. One of the photos is my nephew Matthew (my family lives in Charlotte).  Matthew is covered in chocolate hazelnut gelato – most noticeably all over his face. This is funny to me because Matthew is a VERY Neat little boy.  I guess that is why I love this photo so much and chose to share it. Look at his smile.  Sitting at Harris Teeter yesterday, the gelato must have tasted good to Matthew and he decided to dive in and go for it.  After all, why wouldn’t he?  He will get a bath later anyway and it was probably worth a time out or two.   I am pretty confident he had a good experience.  While I don’t expect our consumers to smear gelato and sorbet all over their faces, I am excited to see the look on their faces when they taste Ciao Bella for the first time.  A real smile is heartwarming no matter if you are 3 or 63.  That is why we are documenting our tour with alot of photos.  Please check back regularly.

Sweet Sunday in Charlotte

Thank you to Charlotte for another fun gelato-filled day of events! The event at the Harris Teeter on Prosperity Church Rd. was a blast! Everyone working there was very excited to have us and the manager even hung out on the truck and handed out samples with us.

They also gave us samples from their bakery as a thank you (the cheesecake made my day).

We are looking forward to spending time with friends and family on these next couple of days off before we hit the road for good. Can’t wait to see you all on Wednesday when we start up a new week at 112 South Sharon Amity!

A Pattern Appears

At our event at the Vons in Glendale, CA this evening, the West Coast Bella Girls began to notice a pattern.

People would stop by the truck on their way in to the store for a coupon. But rather than do their shopping, sample in hand, they’d come back for their treat on their way back to their cars with their groceries. As they’d thank us, walking away, there would usually be a comment along the lines of “we’re excited to eat this on our drive home”.

Headed home, with treats for company on the ride!

But then, in fact, the driving wouldn’t really happen, at least not right away.

Too good to drive!

Too good to drive!

These were the only two families that I snapped shots of. But they weren’t the only ones that participated in this pattern! I take it as a sign of a good sample: these treats are too good to be distracted by something like getting home to get your groceries in the fridge! Hope to make you pause in your tracks soon!
