The reason I’m writing this blog at a kind of late hour is because I just finished watching the Teen Choice Awards. Ok, yes, I know I’m not a teen. I’m a twenty-something now. But any gathering of celebrities that’s filmed live, you better believe I’m tuning in. Not to mention the Teen Choice awards are just more fun and less stuffy than other award shows seem to be.
And I wasn’t in the least bit let down. Some of the Gossip Girl cast took the stage and won awards (I’m a big fan of Chase Crawford) and there was a speical dedication to Britney. Britney debuted when I was just a young teen and I have to admit (seeing her in concert this past year) there is something spectacular about her. I also saw Elton John and Billy Joel live. But there’s a difference between sitting back and being in awe of talent (a.k.a Elton John) and having no other choice but to stand up in your heels and dance.
The scene that caught most of my attention (given my line of work these past few months) was the Miley Cyrus premiere of “Party in the USA.” Most all of the grocery stores Elle and I visit have Miley everywhere. Birthday ballons. Cheese crackers. Sugary sweets. If she is everywhere in the food marts, I can only imgaine what she’s done everywhere else. Well, in the performance at the awards tonight, during one scene, she did a dance number on top of an ice cream cart. I thought to myself.. “does she know Ciao Bella?” As the gelato-mobile driver, I witness people everyday who try our brand and love it. I even had a customer tell me today “Please don’t get me started. ..Well, too late I just bought the Key Lime Graham Cracker.”
Anyway, everyone (Miley included) who gives Ciao Bella a chance has only good things to say. For example, we had a guy who used to sell gelato in Sicily, Italy as a career tell us he was impressed. Thank you Ciao Bella for making my job easy and fun… now if only you could get me to the Teen Choice Awards next year. Maybe?
