Check out all that yummy sorbet!

Check out all that yummy sorbet!

Hello out there in Ciao Bella land!   This is Sorbet Syd, a member of the Ciao Bella marketing team.  My colleagues cleverly coined that name for me as I am the ultimate sorbet guru.   Stacks of pints are housed in my freezer – do you like my photo? – in the event I have a hankering for something sweet morning, noon or night.  Whether it’s a sophisticated treat like Blackberry Cabernet, or a sweet yet tart snack like Northwest Raspberry, Ciao Bella sorbet is refreshingly satisfying and always hits the spot. Do I have a favorite? No way. It’s too difficult to narrow down one.  Trust me, all are equally yummy.

You see, I am allergic to milk i.e. lactose intolerant, which means I have to steer clear of products containing milk or milk enzymes, so no gelato for me :-( .  The upside is Ciao Bella sorbets have a creamy mouth feel, similar in texture to frozen dairy desserts. Ciao Bella chocolate sorbet, for example, on a sugar cone, is the next best thing to gelato or ice cream.  A delicious frozen chocolate treat sans milk is practically unheard of, but our executive chef Danilo Zecchin nailed it. Look for the lavender and light blue pint at your favorite grocery store.

Well, over the next few weeks I hope to blog various Ciao Bella stories, and I encourage you to do the same.   Are there any sorbet fanatics out there?  I’d love to hear from you.

I wanted to let you know how much I love your blood orange sorbet. We usually eat 3-6 pints per week! However the past two times we’ve tried to get our Ciao Bella fix, we’ve been dissapointed to find that the recipe seems to have changed. The new batch seems to be more fluffy or creamy. My family misses the hard, crisp taste of the old recipe. Will we get the old blood orange back?

Recently, I do find it more difficult to locate. Please don’t stop making it! It would also be great it you made it in a larger size than the pint. Than you
