The Summer Fancy Food Show hosted by the NASFT is one of the biggest shows of the year. What is special about this show are the prestigious sofi™ awards which are announced on day two. Ciao Bella is no stranger to these awards – we have won 14 over the last several years and this year’s winner Key Lime Graham Cracker gelato makes 15. Ciao Bella’s Executive Chef, Danilo Zecchin, was on hand to receive the award and was very excited that so many people enjoy this taste bud bursting flavor. Reminiscent of Key Lime pie, this gelato is definitely a show favorite and has quickly become a favorite in Ciao Bella’s pint line as well.
This year’s show is definitely a hit. Our new single serve cup is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. Who wouldn’t be excited – 6 of our best flavors packaged in a 3.5 oz cup with a spoon under the lid! Ciao Bella is also giving these away on our sample tour which is currently in Maryland and California. I highly recommend checking it out. FREE samples!!
As with all trade shows there is a lot of work that goes into making it all come together. From booth design to staff, samples, set up and break down there are countless hours and lots of team work that makes it all possible. It is such a great feeling seeing the final product and hearing all of the awesome compliments on our booth. The best part is our uniform. The girls wear really cute and bright blood orange t-shirts and guys are in coconut and chocolate polos. You definitely cannot miss the Ciao Bella team. Just the other day a customer remarked that we look like a little army (sweet, brand mission accomplished).
Team dinner this year was at Tony di Napoli in Times Square (they sell Ciao Bella sorbet – yum). We all had a great time and the food was sooo good. I highly recommend the mussels fra diavolo and the ravioli. Don’t forget to ask for the Pomegranate Sorbettini featuring Ciao Bella’s all natural pomegranate sorbet.
Today is the last day of the show and I am excited to walk around and check out all of the new food trends, booth designs and of course sample all of the different concoctions. I’ll let you know if I sample anything good.
Until next time…
