The West Coast Bella Girls had a lovely first day back in Northern California. Fremont was sunny and warm, but not hot – truly a perfect day for gelato and sorbet! Summer is great for frozen treats, but there are days when it’s so hot that they melt too fast and you don’t get to enjoy the wonderful texture. Of course those are the days that people melt too – customers smile more when it’s not a hundred degrees as they wait in line!
Anyway, on the drive back to San Francisco, our GPS sent us to the San Mateo Bridge to cross over from the East Bay back to the Peninsula. As we pulled up to the toll booth, Tiff and I were talking about how pretty the view is – a long stretch of water, and then, faintly, if it’s not too foggy and you look closely, you can see the San Francisco skyline to the left, across from the Oakland skyline to the right.
The toll booth lady was smiling and sort of pointing as we pulled up. Her comment to us, as we paid our toll? That our truck was pretty! As we pulled up, we were, no joke, commenting on how pretty what she got to look at all day was, while at the exact same time she was thinking how pretty what we got to look at all day is! It was a fun coincidence and a happy reminder to appreciate all the little things that make life so special, like great views and pretty pink trucks!
