Ciao Bella was founded in 1983, when we started making authentic gelato and sorbetto based on an Italian family recipe in our first Scoop Shop in NYC’s Little Italy. Our innovative approach to flavor profiles and meticulous attention to ingredients quickly made us a favorite among chefs and consumers throughout NYC. While our flavors and locations may have changed, our unwavering dedication to the art of gelato and sorbetto has never faltered.

Chef Danilo Zecchin (Ze-keen) has been the heart and creative soul of Ciao Bella for decades. He is an international chef who draws inspiration from his childhood memories of growing up in Torino, Italy, a region known for its epicurean prowess. He has traveled and cooked around the world. He approaches Ciao Bella’s products as individual labors of love- ensuring that every single ingredient and every single product meets the strictest quality standards without compromise. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
